Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrives in India
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in India Sunday morning. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there at the airport to receive Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara. Benjamin was expecting to meet Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, and he was surprised to see Narendra Modi waiting for him at Air Force state Delhi.
It is the first time in 15 years that an Israeli Prime Minister is Visiting India. The last visit was by Ariel Sharon who came to visit India in 2003. He had to cut short his visit to return to Israel to deal with a terrorist attack. Narendra Modi was the first Prime Minister to visit Israel in July 2017. He dismissed criticism from many Muslims in the country and elsewhere to visit Israel.
Netanyahu’s visit to India will deal mostly with efforts to promote trade relations.
