BJP lawmaker charged with rape after 6 months when the victim tried to attempt suicide
BJP lawmaker Kuldip Singh Sengar has been finally charged with raping a 16-year-old girl from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in June last year still there is no progress hasn’t even charged the BJP lawmaker till today. Along with rape with a minor, he has also been charged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The girl who has been trying get the police to act in the case since June last year appeared to give up all the hopes when her father died in the Hospital on Monday. The girl alleged that her father was arrested because he was still trying to pursue the case. He was also thrashed by Kuldip’s brother Atul Singh. The girl’s 55-year-old father died when he was brought to the hospital from the jail.
When there was no hope the girl reached Yogi Adiyanath’s residence to commit suicide on Monday. After which Yogi Adityanath government last night ordered police to file a case against Kuldip Singh Sengar and hand over the case to the to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The girl’s suicide attempt appeared to have pressurized Yogi Adityanath government to announce the CBI probe and distance itself from the ruling party lawmaker Kuldip Sing.
A special team has reached to Unnao to handle the case but there is still no report of police arresting BJP lawmaker Kuldip Singh.
