BJP Ministers who were supporting men accused in Kathua rape and murder resigns
Industries Minister Chandra Prakash Ganga and Forest Minister Lal Singh both of them defended the men arrested in Kathua rape and murder case. Both of the BJP’s ministers handed in their resignation because of the rising public pressure. The party asked them to resign as the party’s image was taking a hit because of them.
Chandra Prakash Ganga and Lal Singh had organized a rally in support of men arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua rape and murder case. The rally was organized in March by the group called the Hindu Ekta Manch.
The Hindu Ekta Manch group was trying to communalize the gang rape since they have taken out the rally with the national flag. They even received support from the state BJP leaders.
Chandra Prakash Ganga asked the police to not to further action in the case and termed arrest of the accused as “jungle raj”.
Earlier this week CM Mufti met union home minister Rajnath Singh and expressed her disappointment over the conduct of the rally by BJP ministers.
