Intel seems to be in trouble with its customers
Last week Intel disclosed two vulnerabilities naming Meltdown and Spectre. These are the memory vulnerabilities that are imposing a big security threat nowadays to the Intel security. The threat Meltdown impacted only Intel chips. While on other hand vulnerability Spectre impacted Intel, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), ARM, NVDA chips. But as the threat Spectre is very difficult to manipulate the only threat remains that all should be worried about is Meltdown. And as it affects chips made by Intel only Intel is facing some troubles.
After disclosing these vulnerabilities intel said that it would not risk their market share. Unfortunately, some of the Intel’s investors are now thinking to move to its competitors. Sources say that Intel Cloud Customers Blackblaze, Infinitely Virtual and Cloudflare are thinking of switching from Intel to ARM or AMD.
Microsoft has already released patches to fix the issue but this patches will show a considerable performance issue. Microsoft said that the patches would fix the issue but customers using Windows 7 and Windows 8, with processor older than a 6th generation will face some serious visible performance degradation. With all this, odds do not seem to be in Intel favour.
