Xiaomi suspends Android Oreo 8.1 Update for Mi A1
Xiaomi Mi A1 is the first smartphone from Xiaomi which comes with Android 7.1 Nougat. The Company had promised to release Android Oreo 8.1 update in for Mi A1 in 2017. The company started rolling out the update on 31 December 2017. However, users faced some serious performance issues after installing the update.
Mi A1 users found that with the new update to Oreo some the features started being unresponsive. The features like fingerprint sensor, dialer app, Ambient light sensor, and recent apps button became unresponsive.
Acknowledging these issues Xiaomi posted on Mi Community that the dialer spp issue was arising due to MyJio application. MyJio app with all app permission granted was interfering the dialer app making it getting hanged and causing unusual delays in making calls. Xiaomi is asking people to uninstall MyJio app or withdraw the telephone permissions for MyJio app.
Xiaomi has suspended the update for now and will out the Android Oreo 8.1 update again after resolving the bugs.
